GRASSROOTS & EDUCATION

CalWA wants to invite you to be a part of the Alliance. As a grassroots/education organization, we believe “knowledge is power.” By joining the California Water Alliance, members show their commitment to truth, concern for their fellow man, State, and the environment in which we all live. Having impact is all about partnerships and participation. It’s about being informed, informing others, and having influence. Via new social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, we provide our members easy access to the facts, statistics and independent research that allow for the education needed to understand the issues facing  California’s water policies and practices that affect all of us. We then provide tangible ways to become involved with “Calls to Action”. Whether a march to the Capital, letters to elected officials, volunteering at events, blogging, CalWA members are actively involved and united in raising awareness and working to create a comprehensive solution to the water crisis facing California.

ADVOCACY

As a lobbying organization, our strategy is to act as the architect and hub of a vast and diverse network of strategic partners made up of industries, trade organizations, non-profit organizations and associations, public and private entities, state and nationwide; united on a common interest in California’s economic success, and how that success is directly affected by water. Such partners, in a lobbying capacity, are called upon to carry our message regarding California’s water policies with them into every office. Whether it be another private entity or interest group or that of an elected official, the strategy being to increase spheres of influence, applying pressure on state and federal officials from any and every angle, prompting a specific action. We strive to be at the forefront of information, policy, and science regarding California’s water practices, and provide that information to our strategic partners with a comprehensive interpretation as to what it means to them, and what action they then can take.

BUILDING STRATEGIC ALLIANCES

Beyond lobbying assistance, our strategic partners also provide time, talent, and any services they are able to provide; such as legal counsel, marketing and PR staff and services, and networking connections to help expand the efforts of the California Water Alliance. Due to the complexity of California’s water policies and practices, CalWA believes we can only achieve a truly comprehensive solution by being inclusive in our partnerships addressing the state as a whole: Urban, Rural & Environmental.

For no one, should be sacrificed for the sake of the other.
